Bio
My full name is Joan Pla Vivoles, and I am a PhD candidate at Østfold University College (Norway), starting in August 2024, as part of the Digitalisation and Society programme. Although a junior researcher, I am senior in life (b. 1980). My background includes journalism and UX design, with a broad academic experience primarily gained in universities in Barcelona, as well as in Sweden, where I have lived for the past decade.
My current research focuses on decentralised communication protocols, particularly social networking protocols, approached from a political economy perspective. I am for technological self-determination.
